Vall de Núria. Ripollès. Serrat de la Teia

Vall de Núria (Nuria Valley)

Vall de Núria is situated 1,964 metres above sea level, at the Eastern Pyrenees. It is one of the most beautiful and emblematic landscapes of Catalonia. The valley, surrounded by peaks of nearly 3,000 metres high, is home to fauna and flora typical of high mountains, with species endemic to the Pyrenees.

To access the valley, it is necessary to leave the car and get the funicular either at Queralbs or Ribes stations. Núria funicular line was inaugurated in 1931. Since then up to the present day, it has been renovated and new equipment has been added, but it allows us the chance to travel in a period wagon, the  cotxe saló, where important people have travelled, including the drafting members of the Estatut d’Autonomia (Self-government Statute) dated 1932.

Many activities can be carried out at Núria. During the winter months: skiing and snow, peak climbing, snowshoe tracks, archery or woodland trekking. During the summer months, sailing or canoeing at the lake, minigolf, archery or woodland trekking, orientation circuits, trekking or horse riding. Children can also enjoy seasonal activities and the play park.
